Comic Book Movie Romance

Yesterday, I posted a new editorial, "CBM Romance - Strength or Weakness?" at ComicBookMovie.com under my alias there, Wolf38. The subject matter is as follows:
CBMs [comic book movies] always cast a "love interest" to offset the hero, but there is not always much actual love happening onscreen. Here, I take a look at the CBM landscape with regard to romance, when it is used as a prominent story element, and how that can either hurt or help a film.
I wanted to write an analytic opinion piece that tackled a relatively seldom-examined topic. I have detected a couple of small errors since posting the editorial, but for the most part, I think that it turned out well.

Pesky Colors

I am still trying to lock down the palette of colors in use here as I coordinate the design template with my custom personalizations, specifically in terms of the blues. There are too many of them right now. Working on it...

Year One

For the purposes of making a beginning out of now, I've decided to designate 2014 as 'Year One,' inspired by the DC Comics convention of back-to-basics origin stories, e.g. Batman: Year One. Of course it's already February (so much for January) but I like the symmetry of 2/2. Second act, second attempt and so forth.

Anyway, my plan for the immediate future is to establish a regularity of posting content in this blog. Poetry, artwork, editorials, lists, links, random thoughts. I want this to function as a hub for my various endeavors as I continue to improve my skill set and present myself as less a dabbler and more a serious content generator.

I will also be working on personalized graphics for this blog. The rudimentary 'dolphin design' header that I just uploaded is the first step. I have more detailed motifs on the proverbial/literal drawing board, so hopefully this place will continue to look both more personalized and more aesthetically attractive in general.

On that note, back to the mines...
